Chapter 2: This Vortal Coil - Part Two Gordon and his Vort companion, after a lengthy journey through the Antlion-infested mines, finally near the Larval clusters, from which they hope to obtain the coveted Larval Extract. However, the Antlion Guardian, protector of the extract, is wary of their presence, stalking our heroes as they continue to close in on it. Eventually, Freeman is separated from the Vort, and must trudge through gross Grub nests and evade the angry Guardian hot on his heels if he is to have a chance to save Alyx. As seen in HL2, Breen was quite aware of the G-man's involvement with the events of the Half-Life universe The map seen at 12:35 is the same one seen in Judith Mossman's coded message from Episode One, presumably located in an Arctic base The location at 12:49 is later visited by Gordon and Alyx once they reach White Forest. Dr. Magnusson is visibly seen on the left hand side G-man's request for Gordon to see Alyx safety to White Forest hits A LOT differently afte playing Half-Life: Alyx. In-depth explanation: It is revealed that, after the Vorts intervened at the start of Episode One, G-man became dissatisfied that Gordon was unable to do as he asked. Hence, the G-man formulated a plan to replace Gordon with Alyx (by putting her through a test in the form of the events of HL:A). However, he is still unable to control the events of Episode Two due to the presence of the Vorts, therefore his entire plan is contingent on Gordon protecting Alyx and ensuring that she lives to to end of Episode Two At 13:31, G-man mentions the phrase "Unforeseen consequences", which also happens to be the name of the third chapter in the original Half-Life, and are also the words he whispered to Eli before the Black Mesa Incident The last Grub of the game needed for the "Get some Grub" achievement (awarded for killing all 333 grubs in the game) is seen at 16:46
