Earlier in 2019, we reviewed the super-cool Arai Rapide Neo helmet up at our favourite bike stop, Newlands Corner. The weather was a bit rubbish, the sound was a bit rubbish and, in truth, the review was a bit rubbish. So we thought we'd do a proper in-house review on what we think is one of the most exciting helmets to come to market in years. The Arai Rapide Neo helmet is Arai's take on a retro-styled helmet. If you ride a modern retro machine such as a BMW R nineT, Kawasaki Z900RS, Moto Guzzi V7 et al, helmets with large aerofoils and wild race graphics simply look a bit odd. There are many retro helmets on the market but, quite frankly, none are up to scratch. Which is why we've been begging some of the big manufacturers to produce a bang-up-to-date, feature-laden helmet with proper venting, customisable interior and Pinlock visor and so on.
