Is Natlan ACTUALLY White Washing its Characters? A Deep Dive!
Natlan is Genshin Impact's newest region and so far we have seen some of the newest characters including Mavuika, Ororon, Iansan, Mualani, Kinich, Kachina, Citlali, Chasca, and Xilonen. These characters and other signs tell us that Natlan is basing their region on cultures within the Ring of Fire including Meso-America, Polynesian and so far some influence from several African religions. As you can tell, the characters' skin tones don't match up with the people within these regions that Natlan is being inspired from. People are very angry online so this video asks: why should you be upset? What is White-washing? What is colorism?
