Dave was a young LDS missionary in early 2004 when he was brutally attacked, robbed, and held at gunpoint in a remote area of Brazil. Thinking he could just move past the even and continue with his mission, Dave was suddenly sidelined by crippling PTSD which he wouldn't recognize until much later. The larger conversation is the safety of missionaries in general and aftercare when a traumatic event happens.
