80 years since the end of the war in Shinshu. This is the third time we've covered the connection between Okinawa and Shinshu. "1,376"... This number is the number of people from Nagano Prefecture who died in the Battle of Okinawa. All of their names are engraved on the "Cornerstone of Peace" at the site. Many are thought to have been Japanese soldiers, but the exact number is unknown, and most of their remains have not yet been returned to Shinshu.
