How to Build a Swing between Two Trees

How to Build a Swing between Two Trees (Tree Swing into the Lake!) The proper way to build a swing between two trees using a flexible joint common to many Tree-House building Projects. The flexible joint is important, because it allows for independent swaying of the two trees. This particular project was a little tricky because I wanted to build the swing in a way that I could jump from it and land safely in the lake. This required me to build in some offsets onto the trees so the swing would move perpendicularly to the lake and provide an adequate launch into the safer depths of the lake. I did end up digging a small channel in the lake just in case I fell short on a jump. When I drilled through the skinnier branch a crack appeared along the length of the tree, I posted in a treehouse FB group and they said it was a surface crack and not to be concerned with it...
