A get together kindly hosted by Paul and Biddy at their lovely garden railway with special celebration for the birthday of Mick Mumford. A most enjoyable day of top toy train fun with a slice of birthday cake 👍. This was from back in May - I’m little behind with video editing These live steam and electric locomotives are mostly spirit (meths) fired. Some use butane gas through a ceramic burner to generate the steam. A couple are fired on real coal stoked into the fire box every few minutes. Nothing beats that magical smell of a coal fired steam engine. They have working lubricators to oil the steam going to the cylinders. Most have 2 working cylinders but the Project has only 1 central cylinder. A couple of these wonderful machines have 3 or 4 working cylinders.
