The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: «لا تجعلوا بيوتكم مقابر، إن الشيطان ينفر من البيت الذي تُقرأ فيه سورة البقرة» Narrated by Muslim. Meaning: “Do not turn your homes into graveyards. Indeed, Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.” Allah Almighty says in Ayat Al-Kursi: ﴿اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 255] Approximate meaning: “Allah—there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him.” Allah also says in the closing verses of Surah Al-Baqarah: ﴿آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِن رَّبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 285] Approximate meaning: “The Messenger believes in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers.” We ask Allah to make the Holy Quran a light for our hearts, tranquility for our souls, and guidance and mercy for us.
