Área atingida por incêndio em Paraisópolis já enfrentava ação de reintegração de posse

A fire destroyed homes in the Paraisópolis community, in the southern zone of São Paulo. The area was already under legal proceedings for repossession, as it was considered a risk zone by Civil Defense due to its proximity to a stream susceptible to flooding and landslides. Colonel Araújo of the State Civil Defense confirmed that all buildings had been previously cataloged. The priority of the authorities is to provide assistance to the displaced families. After the fire was brought under control by the Fire Department, the state Civil Defense mobilized agencies such as CDHU (São Paulo State Housing and Urban Development Company) and social assistance to provide emergency shelter. The victims will receive mattresses, basic food baskets, and clothing. In addition, donations are being organized to supplement humanitarian assistance to the affected residents. Those interested can contact municipal social assistance or the State Social Fund to contribute with materials needed to support these families.
