Cuando la Presa abandonada de Montejaque nos puso en estado de ALERTA !!
When the abandoned Montejaque Dam put us on ALERT!! In early February 2026, the abandoned Montejaque Dam, also known as the Caballeros Dam, reached its maximum capacity. This dam, over 100 years old and abandoned without maintenance, caused public alarm. Authorities ordered the immediate evacuation of the nearby town of Benaoján due to the possibility that the dam's arch could break and cause the Guadiaro River to overflow. Two months later, we returned to the abandoned Montejaque Dam to see the current state of the Guadiaro River and observe the water flow through the dam's arch. #dam #reservoir #urbex
