Ford 390 stroked to 445 cubes on the dyno - 531 horsepower
Engine built for customer named Patrick in Germany. Ford FE 390 with 9.8:1 compression and a hydraulic roller cam, Edelbrock heads, and an Edelbrock Victor intake. First customer engine running on our new in-house DTS dyno installation. Dyno was compared using our Engine Masters Challenge engine and was within 4 horsepower of the results from the professionally calibrated contest dyno. this engine made over 531 peak horsepower at 5700 RPM with a very smooth power band. Exceeded 503 horsepower at 5200 and stayed over that level beyond 6000. Peak torque was 518 lbs at 4800 RPM and stayed above the 500 lb level from 4500 to 5300. Should be a very strong engine in the car and make for a great deal of fun. Edited to reflect a few extra horsepower we found in subsequent tuning!
