Have you prayed to God often, wept before Him, and then wondered: When will relief come? Know that relief is in God's hands alone, and no one knows its timing except Him. However, there are circumstances a believer may experience that instill hope in their heart and increase their certainty that God's mercy is near. The first of these signs is an increased attachment to God. You may find yourself approaching prayer with devotion, supplicating more frequently, and enjoying reading the Quran more than ever before. This is a great blessing, for when God intends good for His servant, He draws them closer and makes their heart attached to Him alone. Another sign is feeling a strange tranquility, even though your circumstances haven't changed. The problem persists, and the trial remains, but your heart has become calmer and more at peace. This tranquility is one of God's greatest gifts to His servants. Another source of hope is when God inspires you to pray and seek forgiveness frequently. Whenever life gets tough, you'll find your tongue repeating, "I seek forgiveness from God," and "O Lord, relieve my distress." God has made seeking forgiveness a means of sustenance and relief from hardship, as He has informed us in His Holy Book. You may also notice that some closed doors begin to open little by little. Perhaps an unexpected opportunity will come your way, or someone you never imagined will stand by you, or a problem that seemed impossible will be solved. God is capable of changing your life in an instant. Another sign is that your perspective on trials will change. Instead of asking, "Why me?" you'll begin to say, "Perhaps God is saving something better for me." This is having good faith in God, and it is one of the greatest acts of worship that God loves. God may remove from your life people who were a source of your suffering and bring closer those who help you do good and remind you of Him. This may be from God's mercy upon you, preparing you for a new beginning. And one of the most beautiful signs is that hope remains alive in your heart, no matter how difficult the circumstances. The believer knows that God does not forget His servants, and that a delay in relief does not mean it will not come. Rather, God may be saving for you something greater than you can imagine. Always remember the words of God Almighty: “For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease.” (Quran 94:5-6) Reflect on this verse carefully. God did not say, “after hardship,” but rather, “with hardship,” meaning that ease follows hardship, and that God’s mercy is closer than you think. In conclusion, if you are going through a difficult time, do not give in to despair. Continue to pray, increase your supplications for forgiveness, have good thoughts about God, take the necessary steps, and trust that if God wills to open a door of relief for you, no one can close it. We ask God to relieve the distress of the distressed, settle the debts of the indebted, heal the sick, and provide for every needy person from His abundant grace. May He grant us and you relief from every worry, a way out of every hardship, and recovery from every affliction. Amen, O Lord of the Worlds.
