Canada's immigration minister announces changes to Express Entry program | FULL

Immigration Minister Lena Diab announced on Wednesday that Canada is expanding its Express Entry program to help bring in a range of skilled workers and give them eligibility to be fast-tracked for permanent residency. Among the categories of those who will be eligible to be fast-tracked in the program are skilled military recruits, researchers, senior managers, pilots, aircraft mechanics and inspectors. Canada's Express Entry is an online system used to manage immigration applications from skilled workers. Diab also commented on the changes the Liberal government has made as a whole. "We needed a reset. So we took a thorough, honest look at pressures across the system and worked with partners across government and the country to set clear immigration targets within a measured framework," Diab said.
