TOCA Race Driver 2 (Xbox) on Insignia #3 - 05/07/2026

technically this race is part of a larger series which i'm not taking part in, but as far as i'm aware the organizers are fine with people who aren't competing joining their races to make up the numbers. it seems that only a small amount of the people who signed up for the championship actually show up to these sessions anyway. since TOCA 2 doesn't have tire wear, they split the race into two to simulate a pit-stop. i didn't have very good pace in the first race because i'd reduced the hardness of my tires by 1 notch in the settings, which seemed to make me slower overall. honestly, i wasn't expecting stuff like rolling resistance to be taken into account or make a perceivable difference in the game's physics. i think when the lobby has tuning enabled, it's probably for the best if i just leave it alone in future. i'm not a big fan of donington and i was struggling in the first race to find the appropriate gear around redgate, mcleans and coppice (i had to look up the corner names) before realizing in the second that, for those corners, it was best to drop down to third gear rather than stay in fourth. the second race ended up being the most exciting race i've done in an online game in recent memory. the first half of the race was total bumper cars until dean and i broke free. they are better at the game than i am but i really pushed myself and managed to stay right behind them in slipstream range for 12 laps, which was really tense. so despite never getting a big enough opportunity to take the lead i am very pleased with my performance and equally as pleased that i have a recording setup to be able to capture stuff like this now. :) i accidentally left OBS on my juiced recording profile, which is set to resize the output to 16:10 (youtube thinks this is a timestamp xd), so i had to re-encode this video to horizontally stretch it back out to 16:9. 00:00 supercopa - donnington short (part 1) 29:05 supercopa - donnington short (part 2) 57:27 supercopa results
