FIP IS THE MLB’s NEW ERA: The Best Pitching Statistic

In this week’s episode we are tackling FIP – or Fielding Independent Pitching. Which is, in my opinion, the best statistic in evaluating a pitcher’s performance. The issue with many commonly utilized pitching statistics in today’s game is that they rely in some form or another on the ability of the pitcher’s team around them. And that shouldn’t be the case!
