The Old Route to the Steall Falls - Glen Nevis | Road Tripping Scotland Ep. 21

With 5 weeks of free time on my hands, I'm heading off on an adventure. With no real plans and my next stop completely depending on the great Scottish weather, I'm heading to different corners of this beautiful country and doing a lot of exploring along the way. Today I'm back in Glen Nevis and am visiting one of the most popular sights, which is the Steall Falls. The Steall Falls is Scotland's second highest waterfall and is hidden down a very picturesque valley. The Falls can also be seen as the backdrop of various Harry Potter scenes. Most people drive up to the end of the road and do a short 1 mile hike to the waterfall, but there is another, lesser known route, which in my opinion is even more beautiful. Slightly more challenging and longer, this route starts at the Lower Falls Car Park and takes you up the southern side of the river, leads over a small hill, with amazing views down into the Glen and of the Steall Falls. This route also means that you can get to the waterfall without having to cross the wire bridge. I decided to head across the bridge on my way back, so I could make this more into a circular walk and headed back down the tourist track on the north of the river.
