From Sant'Agata to South Africa

This is the story of a unique Lamborghini Miura close to our hearts. It’s a right-hand drive SV and was probably the last Miura collected new at the factory by its owner. That man, a South African dentist, kept it for the best part of the next 50 years, and it became legendary in Miura circles as one of the handful of cars still with its original owner. We tracked him down in the 1990s and stayed in contact for decades, making several trips to visit him and the car in Cape Town over the years. The time finally came when he decided someone else should take it over, and he was good to his word as we got the call. We already knew the perfect second owner. The ‘bleu Miura’ SV arrived back in Italy for a new lease of life which was meticulous yet preserved the beautiful original blue interior and other details. During the restoration, we found many fascinating features which revealed how Lamborghini had built the car originally, using available components after Miura production had effectively already ended. We had promised the South African dentist that the car would be in good hands and at the end of the project, we invited him to Modena to see the finished result. We hope you enjoy the reunion.
