Is Aion 2 Pay-To-Win? Korea Was Bad… Global Might Be Different

Aion 2 looks like the kind of online RPG I want to be excited for. Flying, classes, a big fantasy world, old Aion memories — all the traps are there. But there is one problem. Every conversation about Aion 2 turns into the same question: Is it pay-to-win? In this video, I’m looking at what actually happened with the Korean launch, why players got angry, what NCSoft changed after the backlash, and why the global version looks cleaner than Korea did at launch. But cleaner does not mean safe. The global version has a cosmetic shop, a battle pass, and an optional subscription. That already sounds much better than the Korean launch drama. But the real test is not the wings, skins, or pets. It is the economy. If free players can trade properly, sell valuable drops, use the market, and progress normally, Aion 2 has a real chance. If the market feels locked behind a monthly payment, then we already know what this is. My take right now: Korea at launch: yes, or close enough that players were right to revolt. Global today: not proven pay-to-win. Not fully safe either. Aion 2 is not cleared yet. Watch the economy.
