What is the difference between faith and belief? The effect of this question, bordering on nonsense, is identical to that of Elijah's challenge on Mount Carmel: "Either follow the Lord or follow the Lord." In the minds of the people, both Yahweh and Baal were considered the Lord, hence the stupor and lack of reaction of the assembly. There is a faith focused on religion and its subassemblies and one that focuses on the unseen, fundamental, essential aspects. This faith was manifested by the Roman centurion who approached Jesus with a humanitarian request. Even Jesus was very surprised. And it is rather difficult to surprise Jesus!
