Opening of King's Lynn Mart 2022

The Mart in King's Lynn was officially opened by the Mayor of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, Cllr Harry Humphrey on Saturday 12 February 2022. The procession through town started at King's Lynn Town Hall and finished in the Tuesday Market Place. Prayers were led by Reverend Canon Mark Dimond for the Showmen's Guild who prayed for the safety of all and for the people of King's Lynn to be enriched and contented at the Mart. Deputy Leader of the borough council, Cllr Graham Middleton, read the proclamation for the Mart. An address was given by the borough mayor. The president of the Showmen's Guild gave his reply. The Bishop of Lynn, the Venerable Dr Jane Steen read the thanksgiving prayer. The National Anthem plays and then the Mayors cadet rings the bell to officially open the Mart. Finally the guests have a ride on the dodgems.
