A former high-level volleyball player, she competed in four Olympic Games—two indoors and two on the beach. She won the bronze medal in Atlanta 1996, was a three-time Grand Prix champion, and a two-time world champion in beach volleyball. In 2024, she was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame. She holds a degree in Architecture from the United States, where she currently resides, and also studied Political Science. Today she works as a columnist for Revista Oeste, a political commentator on the programs Oeste Sem Filtro and 4 por 4, and hosts the program De Leste a Oeste on Oeste TV.
