Krakowski Szybki Tramwaj - widać już tunel

🚇 The main foundation work for the construction of Phase IV of the #KrakowskiSzybkiTramwaj (Kraków Fast Tram) is now behind us. We are now focusing on the final tasks related to securing the structure and finishing works, which conclude the intensive and demanding geotechnical phase of this investment. 👉 We invite you to watch the video, in which we will show you, among other things, what the underground section of the #KrakowskiSzybkiTramwaj (Kraków Fast Tram) looks like – from a geotechnical and foundation perspective. 👷‍♀️ ‌Paulina Babiarz, Construction Engineer at Soletanche Polska, describes the project: 🔹 The 1.23 km long tram tunnel runs from the Barei roundabout, through Lublańska Street, the Polsadu roundabout, and the Młyńskie roundabout, to the exit at Meissnera Street. 🔹 The main scope of our work: construction of diaphragm walls on a section of the underground tram tunnel and at the underground passenger stations: Polsadu Roundabout and Młyńskie Roundabout. 👷‍♂️ Miłosz Pulit, Project Manager at Soletanche Polska, provides technical details: 🔸 The main technology is diaphragm walls, which serve the tunnel's structural function and protect the excavations. 🔸 Steel struts and ceiling anchors were used in critical areas – particularly at Polsad Station. 🔸 Barrettes – reinforced support elements with temporary columns supporting the floor and intermediate slabs – were also constructed. 🔸 Anti-filtration screens, including reinforced screens – were installed to protect against groundwater and earth pressure. 📍 Investor: Krakow Municipality – Krakow City Road Authority 📍 General contractor: Gülermak S.A. 📍 Geotechnical works: Soletanche Polska #BuildOnUs
