The HOLY GRAIL of Poison Frogs - Oophaga sylvatica "Koi" - Macro & Wildlife Photography in COLOMBIA

Come along with me in this vlog to Nariño, Colombia to search for the HOLY GRAIL of dart frogs - Oophaga sylvatica "Koi"! What makes the Oophaga sylvatica “Koi” so special isn’t just the colors, but the rarity of the experince as well. They exist in small, localized pockets of rainforest, and even in the right habitat there’s no guarantee you’ll find one. Unfortunately these frog populations have also been hit very hard by illegal poaching for the pet trade, as well as deforestation and habitat loss. Seeing them in the wild is incredibly rare, and most people will only ever know them from photos. To come across one naturally is a dream come true and something I am incredibly grateful for. In this video you’ll see exactly what it’s like with me on one of my wildlife photography adventures - long jungle hikes, steep muddy trails, humidity, sweat, and the constant anticipation of what we'll come across next!
