Employees of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and other individuals have been detained. The State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic has uncovered a persistent corruption scheme involving the illegal receipt of monetary compensation by employees of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. On February 19, 2024, as a result of investigative and operational measures conducted in connection with abuse of office and the receipt of monetary compensation, the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic detained employees of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic K.K.A., N.A.O., and the director of a driving school I.M.K. The investigation established that the above-mentioned officials of the Main Directorate of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic created a persistent corruption scheme to obtain illegal funds from Kyrgyz citizens during the registration of permits for the installation of gas-cylinder equipment on vehicles. Currently, the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic is conducting further investigative and operational measures to identify other persons involved in the above-mentioned criminal activity in order to bring them to criminal responsibility.
