How I Read Scientific Non-Fiction for Research - Learning about Biases in Technology
I try to always learn something new and this time I want to take you along for the ride. With AI on the rise in many areas, I have decided to look into one area that really worries me: biases in the data that then end up in the AI as well. To research the topic I have picked up two great books: Algorithms of Oppression by Safiya Noble and Unmasking AI by Dr. Joy Buolamwini. Since they read very differently, I have chosen different styles of annotation for them, so come and have a look!
