24 Installing the Breasthook or deck onto your wood strip Whitehall Wherry
This again is one of those places where I encourage you to be creative and make it yours. Boat building has some foundational rules which should never be broken, but it is important to understand the why we have these basic rules to know where we can make alterations. The breasthook is simply a way to tie together the two sides of the hull. Any structural way this can be achieved is acceptable. Right now you have the two sides coming together and relying on the tape and wood flour and epoxy, that clearly will not be enough. If you want to see options for different decks and breasthooks, you can take a look at the freighter canoes, and pulling boats at www.sandypointboatworks.com
