Max Steiner There Are No Rules!
Maximilian Raoul Steiner's essay in 1937 on the art of film scoring. Max Steiner seen as the father of film music along with Erich Wolfgang Korngold who both worked in Hollywood during the golden age of cinema. They both scored films for Bette Davis, Errol Flynn and many others. I wanted to show case Steiner's music here as he talks about the transition from silent films to sound films. This is merely a snapshot of his work and I will leave it to others more qualified to speak about this period in Hollywood. Max Steiner talks so eloquently about the art form in those early days and the problems he encountered. I have vocalised the essay using AI also I have illustrated the essay with his music with some minor edits along the way and some video clips as well.
