“EUCARISTIA SOLENE EM HONRA DE SÃO JOÃO” – Santo Amaro – Ilha de São Jorge (28.06.2026)

Last Sunday, June 28th, the Feast in honor of Saint John was held in the parish of Santo Amaro, municipality of Velas, São Jorge Island (Azores). The program for the day included: a Solemn Eucharist followed by a procession that traveled part of the parish's main street. The promoter/organizer of this Feast was the Santo Amaro Community Center, which includes the Santo Amaro Philharmonic Band, with Saint John as the Band's patron saint. The Solemn Eucharist was celebrated by Father Vítor Medeiros, and the liturgical chants were performed by the Santo Amaro Choir, under the musical direction of Celso Furnas.
