#Pinoyflix #DocumentaryFilm #NewsEntertainment BUY-BUST OPERATION IN BARANGAY SAN JOSE, SOGOD, SOUTHERN LEYTE At around 2:45 PM on March 28, 2021, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office VIII (PDEA RO VIII) under the direct supervision of Director Gilbert V. Buenafe and local police conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose, Sogod, Southern Leyte that led to the arrest of the following suspects identified as: a. Rafael de Guia y Olasiman; and b. Erwin Avenido y Dalut Seized from the suspects during the buy-bust operation were two heat-sealed transparent plastic packs containing methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing 536.0 grams, with an estimated market value of Php3,644,800.00, one mobile phone, brown leather wallet containing P89.00, a motorcycle and the buy-bust money. A case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was filed against the suspects. De Guia was already arrested by the local police last February 2021 for the same offense. The report emanated from the Confidential Informant (CI) regarding a possible warehouse of illegal drugs in the municipalities of Villaba and Abuyog, Leyte, where Olasiman and cohort was involved with. On that ground, and after evaluation of the information, PDEA Regional Office VIII planned for the buy-bust operation set thru the assigned action Agent, and arranged for a half kilogram shabu transaction. Upon arrival on the agreed time and place of transaction, at around 2:45 PM of March 28, 2021, a buy-bust operation was successfully conducted that led in the arrest of the suspects. During investigation, the suspects revealed that the illegal drugs are sourced-out from Cebu thru Port Palompon. De Guia disclosed that he was introduced by a friend, a certain alias Jerbon who is from Kinangga, Leyte, to a certain alias Ricky of Villaba, Leyte and alias Renan of Palompon, Leyte; and it is them who connected him thru a phone call to an identified inmate in Leyte Regional Prison, until many drug transactions were successfully made. Avenido, the owner of the confiscated motorcycle further disclosed that he is just a drug user who took advantage of earning easy money and free use of shabu in exchange of transporting illegal drugs in different parts of Leyte. According to the suspects, all the drug transactions they made in whole Leyte were facilitated by the inmate; and they just transport the illegal drugs to the buyers. The half-kilo shabu transaction made in the buy-bust operation, the suspects were offered P50,000.00 by the inmate to transport said items for an initial payment of P900,000.00 from the buyer, hence, the agent poseur-buyer. Upon learning of the process of drug transactions made by the suspects, PDEA will continue to conduct investigation and extract information on the identity of the supplier and other cohorts; and the sources of shabu for the neutralization of their drug dealings.
