Creative Cello Chat with Sheku Kanneh-Mason
Today I had the pleasure of seeing my great cello friend, Sheku Kanneh-Mason. As he says during our interview, the cello introduces us to people. I met Sheku when he was just 8 years old, and already then he had that special quality. We have a lot to be thankful for and a lifetime full of surprises. During our chat at the Royal Academy of Music we explored themes around tradition and innovation, organising time during a busy schedule, what Creative Cello suggests, the relationship with the instrument and how it can help to shape who you are, working out new solutions coming back to familiar repertoire, being switched on for creative ideas, parental support, being without the cello, and healthy distractions like sport that give you some time away from deep thinking and learning (including some amusing recollections!). We even had fun at the end with a guessing game. I hope you enjoy this first Creative Cello chat and Thank You, Sheku, for giving up some of your precious time. #cello #cellist #creative #chat #interview
