Bhatkal to Bhopal train journey on Mangala Lakshadweep Express | 26 Hours across Konkan Railway to Central India. Winter India Experience Episode 1 – Real Indian train travel from Coastal Karnataka towards Delhi route. Welcome to my Winter India Experience – Episode 1. I started this journey from Bhatkal, Karnataka, boarding the Mangala Lakshadweep Express at 2 AM. This train runs from Ernakulam (Kochi) to Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi, and my stop was Bhopal after a long 26–27 hour journey. On the way, the train crossed: Coastal Karnataka ➜ Goa ➜ Konkan Maharashtra ➜ Mumbai outskirts ➜ Gujarat ➜ Madhya Pradesh. One interesting part of this journey — I boarded the train from Bhatkal with only a general ticket and no confirmed sleeper reservation. After entering the sleeper coach, I spoke with the TT and requested a confirmed seat. He adjusted my ticket, charged the sleeper fare difference and a fine. Finally, I got a confirmed sleeper berth and continued my journey comfortably to Bhopal.
