Living with Tourette's syndrome - Shay's Story
Shay has lived with Tourette’s syndrome from a young age, and has found it a daily struggle. At one point, his tics were so bad that he would repeatedly punch his own chest. His parents found this very distressing and didn’t know how to help. Shay was introduced to TICfest - a weekend of fun for children living with Tourette’s, run by project workers from BBC Children in Need funded organisation @TourettesAction. At TICfest, Shay can meet others living with the same condition and feel understood.
