On August 31, 2019, PLANTA Tobacco Manufactory, Berlin, announced its withdrawal from its core business. The family-owned company sold the rights (and recipes?) to the Mac Baren Tobacco Company – but that too became history after the owner, Henrik Halberg, passed away in 2021. What can be expected from tobacco that was produced almost 18 years ago? Is it worth taking a trip down memory lane? My experience.
