Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) is currently the longest-running cast member on the Peacock streaming soap opera, having debuted back in 1968 as the fourth recast of Tom (MacDonald Carey) and Alice Horton's (Frances Reid) granddaughter, and since that time she has become a legend, an icon, and one of the most beloved stars in the genre's history. In a very special DAYS 60 chat with Michael Fairman, Susan speaks on the recent returns on the anniversary week episodes which included: Julie's her on-screen brother, Stephen Schnetzer (Steve) and her grandson, Lamon Archey (Eli) and shares the personal and emotional story of when Lamon gifted Susan with a memento, when her beloved husband Bill Hayes passed in 2024. Along with the late Bill Hayes, Susan created on and off-screen magic, and became the first super-couple of daytime as Doug and Julie. Here, she shares several moments about Bill, including working with the legendary Dick Van Dyke, the Addie/Doug/Julie storyline, Julie's disfigurement after the oven fire, which kept her apart from Doug for a long time, and more.
