SWS went on hiatus after about two years. ▶Around 1983 New Japan Pro-Wrestling →Misleading accounting practices within New Japan Pro-Wrestling regarding "Anton Heysell" led to Tiger Mask's retirement and an attempted coup, which led to the founding of the first UWF and the founding of Japan Pro-Wrestling by Riki Choshu and others. ▶October 11, 1997 KRS Tokyo Dome "PRIDE.1" (Nobuhiko Takada vs. Rickson Gracie) →Takada was unable to do anything against Rickson and suffered a crushing defeat by submission at 4:47 in the first round. ▶November 19, 1987 New Japan Pro-Wrestling Korakuen Hall "'87 JC Tag Team Championship" (Riki Choshu, Masa Saito, and Hiro Saito vs. Akira Maeda, Osamu Kido, and Nobuhiko Takada) →Maeda kicked Choshu in the face from behind. Choshu suffered a fractured right frontal sinus floor, a serious injury requiring a month of recovery. Maeda was suspended indefinitely, and New Japan announced his dismissal the following March. This led to Maeda's second UWF launch. ▶ February 10, 1990, New Japan Pro-Wrestling Tokyo Dome "'90 Super Fight in Toukyoudoumu" (Kouji Kitao vs. Crusher Bam Bam Bigelow) → Former yokozuna Kitao made his wrestling debut. He appeared dressed like a movie action star, with a black leather jacket, crew cut, and sunglasses. ▶ January 4, 1999, New Japan Pro-Wrestling Tokyo Dome "'99 Wrestling World in Toukyoudoumu" (Shinya Hashimoto vs. Naoya Ogawa) → Hashimoto, a top New Japan Pro-Wrestling wrestler, was subjected to an attack by Ogawa that went beyond the realm of professional wrestling in front of a large crowd at the Tokyo Dome, resulting in a forbidden "cement match" that ended in a no contest.
