I'm leaving Hanoi because of the extreme smog (AQI over 200 – "very unhealthy") and spontaneously traveling on to Ha Long in Vietnam. There, for just €21 a night, I find a surprisingly luxurious accommodation with a sea view – and suddenly I'm not traveling alone anymore. This travel vlog isn't about perfect planning, but quite the opposite: spontaneous decisions, chance encounters, and perfectly normal situations that arise along the way. The journey begins with the drive from Hanoi to Ha Long, small encounters on the roadside, and a bus ride that's typical of Vietnam. Once in Ha Long, I discover my apartment, explore the beach, watch locals gathering seafood, and wander through the city without a fixed plan. The next day, I have visitors from Thailand. We spend time together in Ha Long – despite the language barrier, mostly using a translator app. This is exactly how these unfiltered travel moments come about: coffee, walks, outdoor fitness by the lake, spontaneous conversations with locals, a quick game of soccer, and a perfectly ordinary evening somewhere between street life and a restaurant.
