In 1989, Honda, which had previously focused on small and mid-size cars, launched the NSX; a supercar that challenged established dream cars like the Ferrari 348 TB and the Porsche 911 Carrera 2 – and only to beat these two models in independent comparison tests. As the first production vehicle with a self-supporting aluminum body, the mid-engined two-seater broke new technical ground. Most fascinating, however, was its good-natured, light-footed behavior in city traffic – with race-car-like attitudes at a full gallop. Automotive historian Wolfgang Blaube presents the supercar of the 1990s in motion.
