We Will Be Able To Define Pain After Playing Earth Defense Force / AN UNFORGIVINGLY HARD GAME / Ep.1

A normal guy will comically attempt to play, and beat all 717 Super Nintendo games on the hardest difficulty. You'll laugh, you'll cry, he'll fume, and he'll die. 🎮 Welcome to Super Hardcade! It's a comical Let's Play channel but, with the purpose of documenting every single SNES game ever created. We have fun here. Not a speed run show, not a deathless run show, just a guy with a sense of humor playing his favorite console's entire video game library! We only play games on the Super Nintendo! And we only play games on the hardest setting or just default if there is no option for a higher difficulty! Additionally, we may include bonus episodes such as Game Boy games via the Super Game Boy, and relicensed and rereleases Super Nintendo games from companies such as Limited Run Games, iam8bit, and/or Strictly Limited. This episode marks my first encounter with one of the most underrated shoot-'em-ups on the SNES—and it quickly becomes clear that Earth Defense Force is no joke. After selecting Hard difficulty, I jump into a relentless barrage of enemy ships, lasers, projectiles, and screen-filling chaos as humanity's last line of defense against an alien invasion. What starts as excitement quickly turns into a lesson in survival. Between experimenting with different weapon loadouts, learning how the shield system works, managing upgrades, and trying not to burn through all my continues in the opening stages, this episode becomes a crash course in classic 16-bit shooter design. Along the way, I discover that weapon choice is everything, eventually settling on homing attacks as the best way to survive the game's increasingly aggressive enemy patterns. Earth Defense Force combines fast-paced arcade action, impressive Mode 7-inspired visuals, incredible music, and surprisingly smooth performance into one of the SNES library's hidden gems. But on Hard difficulty, it's also proving to be one of the toughest games I've faced so far in this challenge. 🎮 Challenge Rules: • Beat all 717 North American SNES games • Play on the hardest difficulty whenever possible • Use default settings if no difficulty options exist • Complete each game according to reasonable completion standards • Document the entire journey Current Progress: 🎯 Game #712: Earth Defense Force 🚀 Playing on Hard Difficulty ⚔️ Learning weapon systems and enemy patterns 📚 Continuing toward all 717 North American SNES games Topics Covered: • Earth Defense Force SNES gameplay • Super Earth Defense Force • Hard difficulty challenge • Classic shoot-'em-up gameplay • SNES shmups and hidden gems • Weapon upgrades and loadouts • Homing missiles vs special weapons • Retro arcade action • Alien invasion games • Difficult Super Nintendo games If you enjoy retro gaming, shoot-'em-ups, SNES hidden gems, challenging arcade games, space shooters, classic Nintendo titles, and discovering overlooked games from the 16-bit era, subscribe and follow the journey as I attempt to beat every North American Super Nintendo release. #EarthDefenseForce #SuperEarthDefenseForce #SNES #SuperNintendo #Shmup #ShootEmUp #RetroGaming #SpaceShooter #SNESHiddenGems #ArcadeGames #GamingChallenge #RetroGames #GameCollecting #HardMode #ClassicGaming
