👋 In todays review we take a look at the 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO and put it to the test with towing 6K pounds! The towing capacity for the Toyota Tacoma is 6,500 pounds and with the 2.4L 4 Cylinder Turbo Hybrid, it didn't have any issues! The 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO also has a lot of towing technology features which are very nice to have for a midsize truck. Now you aren't buying a midsize truck to tow all the time, but it is possible and with this 4th generation Toyota Tacoma, it's a breeze! The 2024 Toyota Tacoma has updates over the previous generation like only offering the 4 cylinder engine. But this engine produces 326 horsepower and 465 pound feet of torque, so you have basically instant torque and lots of it at a low rpm. The hybrid assistance will help with that and put less stress and strain on the engine, so if you do plan on towing, I would go for the hybrid! The 2024 Toyota Tacoma also gets a new transmission and with the eight speed, I didn't have any gear hunting issues and it was very smooth even with the weight. There are a lot of towing technology features like the trailer braking system, the backup assistance, tow mode and all the cameras. It makes it much easier to use the Tacoma as a tow vehicle. After towing for several miles, I can confidently say that the four cylinder is an engine that can tow and honestly it tows better than my 3rd generation Toyota Tacoma. Now as far as reliability and longevity goes, only time will tell, but knowing Toyota, they will produce an engine that will last!
