Lake Simbi Adventure || A crater lake with two side stories Kendu Bay. ✔️🇰🇪🇰🇪

Lake Simbi, also known as Simbi Nyaima ("the sunken village"), is a small volcanic crater lake located near Kendu Bay in Homa Bay County, close to the shores of Lake Victoria. According to Luo folklore, a poor old woman once sought food and shelter from villagers who refused to help her. Only one family showed kindness. The old woman warned the kind family to leave, and soon afterward a violent storm submerged the entire village, creating the lake. This is why the lake is called Simbi Nyaima, meaning "sunken village." Lake Simbi is renowned for attracting large numbers of flamingos and other bird species, including little egrets, Egyptian geese, and little grebes. Birdwatchers often visit the sanctuary to observe these seasonal migrations
