BANGKAPOS.COM - A Honda HR-V caught fire on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, right in front of the Muhaya Women and Children's Hospital (RSIA) in Pangkalpinang, Tuesday (June 23, 2026). The fire, which occurred around 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), caused a commotion among road users as the flames quickly engulfed most of the vehicle. Taman Sari Police Chief, AKP Syafrial Agus, confirmed that there were no fatalities in the incident. According to preliminary information, the driver stopped the vehicle after receiving information from other motorists that there was a fire under the car. Shortly after the driver exited, the fire grew and engulfed the vehicle, leaving almost nothing but the frame. Two fire trucks were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the fire in approximately 20 minutes. The Pangkalpinang Police are still investigating the exact cause of the fire, while losses from the incident are estimated to reach hundreds of millions of rupiah.
