Comparsa 'El patriota' | Gran Final COAC 2026

The theme and costume of El Patriota revolve around the figure of Blas Infante, considered the father of the Andalusian homeland, and is set ninety years after his execution. The comparsa 'El Patriota' presents itself with this historical air, with references to the Andalusian flag that evokes Andalusian identity, the memory of Blas Infante, and the assertion of Andalusian identity as a community with its own history. This approach permeates the entire repertoire of this Sevillian comparsa from Alcalá de Guadaíra, which has reached the final despite being newly formed. In their grand final performance, they dedicate the first pasodoble to the figure of the grandmother from the post-war era. It is about a woman who, like Andalusia itself, has overcome many hardships and difficulties. The second pasodoble is a poetic and militant defense of the Andalusian dialect and its characteristic accent. In the cuplés (short, humorous songs), Francisco Jesús Gómez and Francisco Javier Ramos lighten up their writing, offering lighter lyrics dedicated to healthcare waiting lists and the omnipresent Artificial Intelligence.
