Willisau is known not only for its round pastries but also for its diverse musical events. One of these events, particularly popular with folk music fans, takes place regularly at the "Möhre," as the residents of Willisau affectionately call their traditional inn near the Untertor gate. Here in the "Säli" (parlor), Nicolas Senn welcomes both up-and-coming folk music enthusiasts and time-honored, beloved Ländler ensembles. For example, the Liem brothers from Nidwalden, part of the Trio St. Jakob, showcase their joy of playing and singing not only at folk music festivals but also at major ski races. The four Schwyzerörgeli players Rast-Wiss cultivate the authentic style of Inner Schwyz and have prepared an original composition, the Schottische "Ab i d'Fäschthötte," specifically for "Potzmusig." The Jodufroue Willisau will present a first-rate composition by Marie-Theres von Gunten. Another popular Willisau ensemble performing is the Schwyzerörgeli Trio Beat Neuenschwander. The Eva Wey Trio, with guitarist Greg Obrist and bassist Peter Gisler, performs Alpine folk music and surprises with a lively yet traditional Swiss violin dance. Of course, the next generation of folk musicians is also featured at "Potzmusig." The Gersau-based band Damian Ruhstaller debuts with a composition by the veteran Kaspar Muther, bringing a breath of fresh air to the scene with their youthful energy. And: In Alosen, high above Lake Ägeri, the Alpine trio Echo vo de Langenegg performs beautiful natural sounds. Irène Meier proves that she can not only impress with her culinary skills as the winner of the 2025 "Landfrauenküche" (Country Women's Kitchen) competition, but also shine as an alphorn player.
