Besuch der Vennbahn

The IG Westeifelbahn eV (West Eifel Railway Association) hosted an excursion to the old Vennbahn (Venn Railway) in Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg. The tour included a tour of the old line, old stations, and dilapidated bridges on this railway line, which was so important for the military during World War I and World War II. But the railway was also of enormous importance for civilian use in this region. The railway brought prosperity and economic growth to the border region. During this excursion, the tour visited Hemmeres, Ihren/Grenze, Steinebrück, Lommersweiler, Reuland, St. Vith, and Ulflingen, and explained the remains of the Vennbahn.
