Omoro Chairperson Takes Action: Major Road Works and Community Sensitization Drive Begin

The Omoro District Chairperson, together with his executive team, has engaged communities in sensitization activities and supervised mechanized maintenance works along the Laminlawino–Anyomi Cash Road (7 km) and the Opidi–Lwala–Agago Road (7.2 km). The maintenance works are aimed at improving road accessibility and enhancing service delivery within the district. The budget allocation for the Anyomi Cash Road is estimated at UGX 108,303,715 (one hundred eight million three hundred three thousand seven hundred fifteen shillings only), while the Opidi–Lwala–Agago Road has an estimated budget of UGX 108,922,000 (one hundred eight million nine hundred twenty-two thousand shillings only). During the exercise, the Chairperson sensitized residents on the importance of road maintenance and how improved roads contribute to the social and economic development of communities. The Chairperson also reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption within the district, particularly in areas such as the recruitment process, which he noted had previously been affected by allegations of corruption. He pledged to serve the people of Omoro District with dedication and to do his best as their duly elected District Chairperson, ensuring that development programmes benefit the people.
