Cuauhtémoc visiting Auckland
The Mexican Navy tall ship Cuauhtémoc was in Auckland as part of its seven-month training cruise. It is named after the last Aztec emperor, Cuauhtémoc. It has 261 crew members including 53 women. This steel-hulled, three-masted ship was launched in 1982 and is 90.5m long with a mast height of 48.2m. It left port on 1st November making a great sight steaming down the harbour and off back across the Pacific to Mexico.
