Bodycam: Florida Mom's Target Shoplifting Spree Doesn't Go as Planned

On a quiet August night in Flagler County, Florida, deputies were called to a local Target after a woman was caught peeling and swapping price tags of several items in a Target store. The suspect, later identified as Carla Nishikura, had her young son with her. When Nishikura rang up her items — which should have cost $270 — her swapped-out-sticker-scheme rung up a total of less than $20. Flager County deputies confirmed they let Nishikura off the hook for another shoplifting attempt in 2023 and court documents show at the time of the crime, she was already on probation for a similar crime in 2023.
