Finding old homes using Google Earth overlays

This tutorial is a longer video with tips and tricks throughout the entire video. This is more than just a "How to overlay" video, but I get into the method I use to find old houses and structures. I also show you some of the websites I use. It starts out with the websites, then a general reference overlay, then a zoomed in township plat, then a zoomed in part of that township, and ends with an overlay of an 1937 aerial photograph. I know its long, but I really wanted to give everyone a sense of how I go about doing things. There are a thousand tutorials on how to do an overlay, but getting county lines and plat lines to match up can be extremely sometimes. Hopefully this tutorial will make that a little easier. I will try to reply to questions as I see them. Thanks everyone. Stuff I forgot: Other Map Resources: Local Historical Society USGS Historical Topos http://www.davidrumsey.com
