Leslie Feinberg's Buffalo: Historic Sights in Stone Butch Blues
Join Dr. Jeff Iovannone as he guides us through the Leslie Feinberg’s Buffalo: Historic Sites in Stone Butch Blues, a digital exhibit which documents the architectural and social history of sites represented in, or directly connected to, Stone Butch Blues. The places documented, both extant and demolished, collectively constitute an archive of Buffalo’s historic LGBTQ places. Leslie Feinberg was an internationally known transgender lesbian writer, activist, labor organizer, and working-class intellectual from Buffalo. Their first, and most celebrated, book, Stone Butch Blues tells the story of Jess Goldberg, a transgender person from a working-class background who, like Feinberg herself, comes of age in Buffalo. The novel won the 1994 Lambda Literary Award and the Stonewall Book Award-Barbara Gittings Literature Award from the American Library Association and has been translated into numerous languages. The digital exhibit, Leslie Feinberg’s Buffalo: Historic Sites in Stone Butch Blues can be viewed online at https://tinyurl.com/Leslie-Feinbergs-....
