The University of Louisville, its School of Medicine, and the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology have rich histories and traditions of academic excellence. Our department hosts National Institutes of Health-funded environmental health sciences training and cancer education training programs. Pharmacology and toxicology are the ideal translational interface effectively bridging preclinical and laboratory-based investigations towards improving the health and well-being of the patients and populations. Our research and training programs include disease prevention, vaccine discovery and drug development in partnership with numerous centers and institutes, including but not limited to the Center for Integrative Environmental Health Sciences, the Superfund Research Center, the Alcohol Research Center, the Hepatobiology and Toxicology Center, the Envirome Institute, the Center for Predictive Medicine, and the Brown Cancer Center.
